Running Accomplishments:

Stay in the game, keep in the moment - have conquered a few of the holy grails of running - sub 3hr marathon, ran Boston and qualified for Boston at Boston, 10K PR under 6 min miles, won a couple of 5Ks in my early days of running, running for 30 years and ran 39 marathons.  The transistion to the back of the pack has not been easy, but, acceptance, stay in the game, root for others, enjoy the rest of the journey.  Another off the bucket list second =  Provo Half IM -  have done 6 open water Tris and 6 pool Tris.  Gave the STG IM a good Tri, hope to take another shot at the IM.

Short-Term Running Goals:

2013 Race Plan - STG Half IronMan, Lake Mead Rage Olympic distance, STG spring relay tri, STG half marathon, STG marathon, Cozumel IM, Utah Summer Games Triathlon at Gunlock, Murray 5k with family and Utah Half Distance Triathlon, 187 mile red rock relay,  STG marathon,

*note of clarification - cross training miles from biking and swimming calculated as follows: (as someone may wonder) 20 mile an hour bike = 5 cross training miles (those not familar with a 20 mph pace, good bike effort for long distance,  swimming, convert 1 hour swimming to 5 cross training miles.  For those that do not swim much, great cardio workout.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Enjoy the Swim, Bike Run thru Life - Hope to Run a Few Races Support Sylvie - Be a good coach   - Support Jenna, Jeremy, Taylor and Bonnie - my kids are now into running, who would of thunk it.  long term goals, recover from the ankle sprain, accept was it, have fun racing, mountain biking, faster swimming.

Personal:

BSRools, the B stands for Brent and the S for Sylvie.  The Rools come from my personal running rools over the years: Never complain once the run starts, allways pick up the pace into the wind and always pick up the pace on a hill. If someone whines, pick up the pace.  Once a goal is set, no whining, regardless of setbacks.  We were running when running was not Kool.   Kool comes from a race story, ran my first race, 5K wearing a "beanie that had "Kool Aid Kid"

Park city Nike store, new shoes and new jacket for Sylive, use $75 worth of gift cards, 2 new pair of Levis.  Sylvie says a look like a homeless person in my old cargo jeans.  Well, now what, new levis, look like who? A rock star or old mexican mountain goat?

After noon start to the run, had planned on running back and forth along the dirt trail, it was too muddy, moved on north not sure of the turnaround point.  When I hit 3900 So, bridge over, stopped for a couple seconds, hear comes DC and his daughter up the ramp.  Always good to see Demetrio, ran with them for a half mile north and chatted a bit.   DC one of the nicest runners ever.  Funny thing, after 30 years of running still run into DC like it was 30 years ago.  I looked at my garmin, turned around at the 4.6 mile spot and headed back towards home.  The new shoes had more cushion, less support, but worked well.  I started to get tired towards the 6  mile mark, seen two runners stop ahead of me and walk, went by them and said to myself, do not let them pass me back, I held them off all the way home, good mental effort for me.  There were several runners out today, seen no others I knew, most were friendly.  I did not high five or hug any of them, I don't have Burt's magnet personality or Karen's sweetness.

Kool, down, did 4 miles on the spin bike, done for the day, baby sitting grandson while his dad is out racing his Lotus at Larry Miller speedway.  Chit chat with Bonnie and Sylive on how to break up the legs for the Lake to Lake relay, told them I would take the uphill legs.  It seems the women are worried about time, etc.  Who cares, just have fun.

Stay Kool, B of BS Rools out

I have to side with you on the relay. On those ones you can't really control time so just go and have a great time!

I too lack the energetic, outgoing personality of many bloggers, if I don't know you I'll give you a smile and a wave or at least a head nod :)

Sounds like a great day and good times back on the trail again! Nice work, glad the shoes are good on the legs.

Congrats on the shopping! I am a horrible shopper. I have developed a major distaste for it, so my hubby does the majority of it! :)

30 years of running into DC, huh? I don't believe you ... you're not old enough!!!!! :) :) :)

Have a wonderful Sunday. :)

Devine, K-Power and T NA NA - I do feel like a rock star today, with Nickel back, three KOOL and fast women giving me shout out.

B of BS Rools out, no longer homeless
